Two brothers turned eco warriors transform their community centre into an energy saving hub. Tom and Gavin Tams, members of the Sutton Trust Community Group, gave their community facility in Hadleigh Road, Abbey Hulton, a green makeover. Their aim is to reduce the Carbon Footprint and help the environment. After undergoing training at Trafford Hall Conference Centre the project was under way. They fitted solar panels to roof to heat water. They added a state of the art air source heat pump to absorb heat from outside to warm water for radiators. They also installed bamboo laptops and computer chairs made from recycled materials. The revamped community facility - was given a facelift thanks to a £32,000 eco grant from Affinity Sutton’s Community Investment Fund. As part of the project, experts from the environmental charity Groundwork (West Midlands) worked with Tom and Gavin and other residents. They helped with the selection of the best energy saving equipment, which was installed by Burntwood-based company Hitech Energy Ltd.  Air Source Heat Pump Sutton Trust Community Group Logo Home|Contact|Site Map Tams Brothers Website by: Tams.
